I've had the HD485's for two years. They're used in studio, on Ipod, the living room and on the road. There is a break-in time, and like a good acoustic guitar, they get better with age. When recording, my musician buds grab for these first. Beats my Koss and Sonys for punch, detail and clarity. Lightweight, comfy and affordable! They also come with a nice multi-angle mount/holder. |
Excellent imaging, great for long sessions. Buy these phones!

I also realised that they were very light weight and had cushioning around the ears and on top of the head so I thought they looked very comfy. At first when you put them on you of course notice them, but after a while you forget you are wearing them. Honestly, they are one of the most comfortable headphones I have tried.
The sound is really rich and full. |
Light, sound great, sounds as if the sound is in the room with you

Bought these for my iPod from here last Summer on the back of reviews from elsewhere and I must say that those other reviews are accurate. These are the best headphones you can get for an iPod, anything more pro than these and the Ohm impedence shall become a problem, anything other than an iPod may struggle too. If you buy a pair they will need burning in (as to all good speakers) but don't buy the cds to do the job just listen to your music as normal, they'll wear in after 80 hours or so. |
Excellent quality for price, found things in songs I didn't know existed!
