Impressed. Build quality is good, aesthetics & comfort excellent. Very detailed sound & stereo image, clear but not bloated bass (more comparable with my 'proper' £100 headphones than other 'walkman' ones I've used). Effective external sound cancellation (great in an open plan office, lethal if running). Very secure & comfortable in the ear. At £24 seem very good value. Significantly better all round than the antiquated 'so-so' Apple ones supplied with an iPod and worth upgrading immediately. Assymmtric cable works for me: it means thet hang round your neck without dropping off when you take them out. |
Excellent quality, performance, looks & value.

I have not tried too many other headphones, and this pair were slightly over my £25 budget, but I am not dismayed. I travel to work every day on train and tube, and the noise (particularly on the tube) sometimes would drown out a yelling conversation! At times with my Koss foam in-ear headphones I still had to pause the movie or show I am watching on my PSP until the train stops, or gets to a quiet bit of track. I have often had to re-mux my video files with 400% volume just to try and combat this. And listening to conversations is hard with that noise. I tried over ear phones, but they were not great, and finally I settled on these.... wow!! Not only does the train noise minimise, it is low enough that I can watch a scene or show for the entire journey and never get distracted (except maybe by the pretty girl in front!). These are brilliant!! I only give 4 stars because someone said you could get just as good at least for cheaper. This may be so. I have only tried Koss, Sony, JVC, Axus and generic iPod phones. SOme not bad, but no where near as comfortable as these babies. |
No experience with many others, but VERY satistfied

A good step up from the headphones generally provided in the box with media players and you'll certainly notice the difference, so at least it's not money completely wasted. However, for the same money there are much better performers and indeed there are equally good performers for less money. The back of the casing is quite rounded which makes them a bit difficult to quickly insert into ear. The asymmetrical cable doesn't really work in practice. On the plus side, they look good and bass is punchy and clear. |
Reasonable performance but poor value for money

What does a forty year old twit want with these new earbud thing type headphones you might ask? Many reasons including:
- deskbound in a noisy office for long periods
- noisy, laborious tasks (lawn mowing, vacuuming ...)
- sports activities including outdoor running, in door gym, etc
- travelling
- shopping

Very clear, great base, great volumes available
